Woody's does not steam crabs. Many reviewers still call its crab cake the best on the Delaware coast. Owner Jimmy O'Conor has run the bar and grill at 1904 Coastal Highway since 2009. The kitchen broils a six-ounce jumbo lump cake with little filler. Delaware Today named it Best of Delaware for crab cakes every year from 2014 through 2025. It has also taken repeated readers' choice wins. The rest of the menu is unfussy beach-bar cooking. Burgers anchor it and Thursday brings steak night. Doors run 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. every day of the year. The patio is pet-friendly. The recurring complaint is the summer-night wait. The room is small and everyone wants the same sandwich.
