Margie and Ray's Crabhouse

Margie and Ray's is the south end's crab house of record on the road to Sandbridge. Google holds it at 4.6 across roughly 3,800 reviews, the highest crab-house number in the city. Ray and Margie Blanton opened it in 1964 as a country store and tackle shop. Their son Thomas took over in 1997 and turned it into a seafood restaurant. Steamed blues run in season, sold by the dozen or half-dozen only. The she-crab soup carries a regional reputation. The all-you-can-eat menu tops out at crab legs, $76.99 per person on the specials page this summer. Breakfast starts at 8 a.m. The room is plain. It closes Mondays.
