Crab Alley sits above the Ocean City Commercial Fishing Harbor, where the deck looks straight at the trawlers. The house opened on 9th Street in 1984. The boardwalk fire of 1994 took that building. It reopened over the harbor in May 1995 and stayed. Today it runs a crab house, an upstairs lounge and a fresh seafood market. Steamer-pot items sell at market price, blue crabs included. Nothing is posted online. The cream of crab soup has a local following. The snow crab feast for two is the order reviewers name most often. Google has it at 4.4 across roughly 2,200 reviews. That is the best number of any crab house in this patch. Reviewers praise the freshness and the working-harbor view most.
